New Mapulaneng Hospital in Bushbuckridge

On this project we were contracted to do the installation of 12 800 square meters of tiles on the walls and the floors. The extent of the project was over four buildings, namely the Emergency Medical Services, Turbicolose, Medical and Isolation wards of the New Mapulaneng Hospital.

I this project we installed 600 x 600 floor tiles and mostly 300 x 600 wall tiles. As in any design we also had to install decorative border tiles on floor, basin and toilet areas.

As tiles is a finishing touch the correct and level installation thereof of critical, as this is what the eye sees. What goes on underneath the tiles is a completely different story. I all project there is a margin of faults that accur. Like brick work that is out, plaster work that is out and floors where the levels is out. Now during the construction process it is impossible to get the super structure 100 percent correct. There in lies the precision when it comes to a finishing product like tiles, especially on such a enormous scale where you see the tiles from one end of the building to the other.

The final tiling must hide all the imperfections that lies underneath. Your vertical and horizontal lines must be exactly level, your door and window frames must be equal, when you walk into a room with wall tiles you should not see the corner gaps and so forth.

This is where a great contractor makes his mark. When everything that the eye can see is precise, level, hidden and accurate.

Even the grouting lines, the Alluminiun corner inlays, everything is level and square.

We completed this whole project in a mere 8 months from start to finish, taking into consideration that the tiles were supplied from China.

This project was the pinnacle of our 2024 year especially working along with a giant in the industry, Gap Infrastructure Coordination. It was a absolute pleasure working with them and we look forward to taking on more projects with them in the near future.
